I bought this Norah Dress and Tunic pattern and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.
I’ve been hoarding this Leah Duncan Meadow fabric for months now, and was eager to put it to good use, but also reluctant to cut into it! I thought the swing-y shape of this pattern would be perfect, and since there were no gathers it could showcase the design on the fabric beautifully.
Originally I wasn’t planning to do the collar option since I’ve made so many of Hannah’s dresses with the Peter Pan collar recently, including this one this week. But in the end it was a no-brainer. I use collars a lot because I love them and they are cute. So I went with it again and I don’t regret it for a second. It gives the dress a little pop, and I think it makes it look a little bit girlier, particularly since this isn’t really a “little girl” sort of print.
I cut the dress in a 3T size, but a 2T length. When I tried it on Hannah it was a tad short, so I added a band to the bottom and it just looks like a slightly decorative hem. Love it.
I wish I had some pictures of it on the little lady, but she is under the weather this week and just not having it. Those will have to come later, but they will definitely come.
